Open Letter to Catherine Demongeot
Ms. Demongeot --
I am a big fan of your work in Zazie dans le métro (1960). It is an all-time favorite film of mine, in no small part due to your participation as Zazie herself. With that said, I also respect your decision to leave the acting world and live a private life.
If the internet is to be believed, you became a teacher -- an incredible and important profession. As I was rewatching the film last night, I was reminded that Zazie herself claims to want to grow up to be a teacher, if only to torment the kids her age for the next decades, centuries, millennium. I wonder if this is something that your students (whatever age they may be) know about. Funny how life sometimes works out like that.
Health and happiness! I hope you are well.
